Graham Cracker Dominoes
If you haven't noticed, we love making graham crackers. You can see our recipe here. (Update! If you have been following I have chosen change the link to our Maple Graham post for better pics on making homemade graham crackers.)
With this recipe you can choose a honey flavor or a maple flavor. Either way they're yummy. We like to change it up from time to time.
We made the dough and rolled it out. We cut out rectangles. Then, we took a bamboo skewer and gently pressed it through the middle of each rectangle. Be careful not to push it all the way through. Then, we used mini chocolate chips for the dots. We pressed them into the dough before we baked them. The picture above shows them after we baked them. The chocolate chips only softened, but did not melt. They firmed up again after they had cooled. Once they had cooled we practiced our addition facts. Then, we ate our math facts! (We needed some review in subtraction. ;)! )
They will split in half with out any problem, just like a store bought graham cracker!
This is perfect when you're subtracting!
