Bringing Home the Bacon

This afternoon we'll be going to pick up our piglets!! We are all very excited and have been very busy getting ready to grow our own little pigs again!

I love making breakfast for dinner! I really don't know what it is about having breakfast for dinner that makes it so yummy, but we do it often around here

I had fun making this breakfast of homemade homefries, homegrown ham, scrambled eggs, and instead of toast I made piglets out of pie crust. (I didn't have any bread made!;))

I used a small circular cutter for the head, a much smaller circle for the snout, and I cut little triangles out and folded them a bit and placed them on the top of the large circle.

Before assembling their cute little faces brush the large circle with either milk, or an egg wash.

I took a toothpick and gave these little piggies some personality after the faces were all put together.

Bake them for 15 minutes or till they are a nice golden color.

Oh, they were so yummy! It was a nice change from toast!

  1. That is too cute! What a fun alternative to bread- makes bread seem boring! hehe
