Pineapple Ice

My youngest one over here loves pineapple, juice in particular. We decided to make that pineapple juice stretch a little further by turning it into a refreshing summer treat.

I'm not gonna insult your intelligence here and give you step by step directions with pictures. That'd be a little silly when you hear how easy this is.

Brace yourself.....

1 can of crushed pineapple in real pineapple juice
3/4 c. sugar
2c. water

Dissolve sugar in water over low heat. Once dissolved remove from heat and pour entire can of crushed pineapple into to sugar mixture. Whisk it around once or twice. Use a ladle to pour juice mixture into 4oz. mason jars. Put on the lid and place in freezer for a few hours.

Done. I think it took 5 minutes to make, total. I can get between 10-12 jars, give or take of pineapple ice.

It's a great way to beat the heat and cool down. It's easy to serve and very tropical tasting. It's also very economical. It cost a $1 for the can of pineapple. It's 100% natural too! Need I say more?!? Go on and make some!

  1. I think I will try making some of this. I have frozen lemonade. Do you think the proportions would be the same?

    1. Hmmm....if you are trying to make a lemon ice I would add the frozen lemonade to the water sugar mixture after you've dissolved the sugar. I'm not sure how many oz. are in the frozen lemonade but I would at least use 1 cup of it if not the whole thing. I would think it would turn out very lemony! Great idea and please leave a comment on how it turned out!!
